Too Early...
My son decided 2 am sounded like a great time to wake up this morning, and of course he stayed up until 6 am then crashed and slept for two hours... I on the other hand got a quick shower and had to start getting Lana ready for school...Guess who is going to need loads of caffeine today? I hope this was one time deal and doesn't become a habit.

Check This Out!
This is the awesome package I got earlier this week to try compliments of the Shespeaks program and Torani. The package includes, two bottles of Torani syrup; one sugar free brown sugar cinnamon and the other peppermint, as well as a recipe book and coupons for a free bottle of syrup. I have to admit I was a little hesitant at first, because I am not a fan of peppermint, but I am so glad that I tried it, it is awesome! I have put in my coffee with a little creamer and also put it in hot chocolate.... tastes like Christmas in a cup :) Yum! This will be my favorite winter flavor from now on. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the brown sugar cinnamon syrup as it is sugar free and all artificial sweeteners give me migraines and make me very ill :( .... However, I have given that bottle to my sister in law who i am sure will enjoy it very much. I cannot wait to find a store who sells Torani syrup and try some other flavors of their syrup. Thank You Shespeaks and Torani! You can also see my review on the shespeaks page http://www.shespeaks.com/Torani-Peppermint-Syrup-Review

Speech Apraxia?
Brendan is really doing well with therapy--- his attention span has increased dramatically and the therapists who were a month ago concerned about his lack of eye contact now say he makes constant eye contact. Now they no longer see him on the autism spectrum but are rather thinking that maybe he has speech apraxia.... but they say its really hard to tell. So I guess its a waiting game until he's a little older. For now, I research both and do what we can... He's done well with sign language and now we're introducing PECS... Did really well with it at this weeks therapy session, so next week the therapist will take pictures of all the things around our house to make us our own cards. Brendan showed an increase in aversion to the sensory activities that the OT brought this week... They are getting him a weighted vest to see if that helps, but since he has a fear of things on his back, I think he will hate this! I think the swing was a much better idea, but we'll see. Those are my ramblings for now.

Confusion...
I"m massively confused... We were referred to a diagnostic pediatrician for an evaluation of our son, who is 2 and stopped speaking. He slowly started losing words until at the age of 2, he now says mom and only on occasion and does a few animal sounds. After a thorough review of his medical, physical and all other history of his short life and spending less than a hour "playing" with him.... he was diagnosed as mildly to moderately autistic. We now have 3 therapists coming each week to see him, and one therapist tells me every time she comes how she just doesn't really think he's autistic and how she hates for him to have this label.... So who do I believe? .... There has to be some reason why he suddenly stopped talking and still isn't saying a single word.. right? I'm so confused... So i guess for now we just continue with our therapy and see where it takes us...
